Teens in the park, playing British Bulldog

British Bulldog is a tag-based playground game that was commonly played in schoolyards in the UK, and other countries. The object of the game is for one player to attempt to bring down other players who have to run from one side of a pitch to another. British Bulldog is characterised by its physicality. A player has to use force to stop other players from crossing and is often regarded as violent. It was eventually banned from many schools due to injuries.

Castle Gardens in Leicester was a popular meeting place for punks and members of other UK subcultures to drink and hang out, especially in summer months.
